I need some advice on drilling through plexiglass, Im considering my third attempt so its getting costly to fail at $25 a sheet. Ill upload some photos of the results that Im trying to avoid shortly. So my situation is that my control panel has been drilled and routed for joysticks and a trackball. But, the plexiglass cracked at a couple of places that were drilled. So now Im trying to drill just the plexiglass to match the control panel, but how do I do it without cracking it again? Ive thought of clamping the whole assembly together with boards on either side of the button or joystick holes, this would provide positive pressure. I also purchased a step bit which is supposed to drill plexiglass without melting it but the starting hole has to be perfectly centered to work with that bit.
