I need some advice... today I was helping my parents trim trees and dump a whole bunch of garbage in the dumpster they rented. When I got there at 10 this morning I saw my dads forearm sleeve was ripped and bloody. My dad said that the neighbor was walking her German Shepard and saw that their gate was open and brought her and her dog into my parents backyard to say hello. My dad was walking by and the dog attacked my dad and bit his forearm, breaking skin and bruising his arm very badly. I told him since he did nothing to provoke the dog to bite him that he needs to report it to the police and the county. This woman needs to be held responsible for her dogs actions. What if there is an infection? Shes the one that should pay. He was like no shes nice Ill be fine totally being stubborn. Im very angry about the situation. Hes a little over 60 years old and seeing how badly it was bleeding I kept telling him he needed to go get it checked out. I am pissed off that the neighbor didnt suggest going to urgent care right then and there when obviously my dad was bleeding. What a shitty person! He also hurt his ankle very badly trying to get the dog off of him. We had to take several breaks while we were working so my dad could change his bandage it was bleeding so badly. My question is Should I get involved and make a phone call myself to the police and the county since my dad obviously wont. What if that dog bites someone else?
