I need some help! My gelding is a 29yr old QH. He has some issues eating his grain all too quickly every once in a while. Every once in a while he turns to the back of his stall and proceeds to throw his head down almost like his food went down the wrong pipe. Then he makes gurgling sounds and proceeds to (what I call) puke out of his nose. Its not acid, I know that. Sometimes theres a piece of grain in it. My vet said he just needs to slow down eating and hell be fine. Have any of you experienced this before? And what have you tried thats worked to slow him down other than giving him a tbsp at a time lol. Ive heard of putting bigger smooth rocks in his corner feeder to push around. But Ill try anything. Last night he lost so much fluid through his nose I wont take the chance itll happen again. Thanks for the help!
