I need to address something that I know is controversial. I - TopicsExpress

I need to address something that I know is controversial. I received an e-mail from someone asking me to drop the religious aspect” of our rescue organization. I was told that many people don’t like it. I realize that many people would not agree or like my reason for what I do and why I spend my time doing this work. I have to say up front that this is not a popularity contest for me. We are not a “religious” organization. However, when I founded this organization, it came into being because of my belief in God and His love for all living things. I have put in hundreds and hundreds of hours, huge amounts of personal funding, and basically, my life, into saving animals. I do not push my beliefs on anyone else, but I will not “drop” or compromise what I believe about the existence of God and His power to love, heal, and care for His creation. It’s the reason I’m doing this and without that, I may as well put my time and money into something else such as enjoying retirement. As long as I am alive, I will not deny my belief in God regardless of what I’m doing and as long as this organization is mine, it will be run to the best of my ability to the glory of God. My desire is to please God regardless of what others think. If that is offensive to some of the public, so be it. There are things that are offensive to me but I don’t tell others what they should or should not believe or express in our free country where we have the right to freedom of speech. The name of our organization expresses the reason David and I are doing this. If people will not support the rescue and rehabilitation of the animals because we will not deny the reason we do it, then we will know this was not meant to be. We appreciate all of you who support us regardless of your beliefs because we know that you support us because you care about the animals as we do. We feel that it is our love for the animals that is the common ground we share. Im not making this statement to start a religious argument on the facebook page and I sincerely hope that does not happen. I simply felt that I had to address this since had received an e-mail saying that people dont like it. I dont feel this is open for discussion, frankly. Thank you all for your support.
