I need to applaud The Authority for finally answering the CM Punk - TopicsExpress

I need to applaud The Authority for finally answering the CM Punk chants heard every week - and having the moxie to do it in Punks hometown of Chicago on Monday Night Raw this week, The truth is, they were right. Punk is nothing more than the quitter they say he is. Look at history since joining WWE: He was given the ECW title shortly after debuting. Then held the tag titles with another then upstart, Kofi Kingston. He led the Straight Edge Society to prominence while holding the World Heavyweight title on Smackdown. Shortly thereafter, he defected to Raw, where he headed up the New Nexus, banishing Wade Barrett to Smackdown. Then, an epic Wrestlemania match with Randy Orton at Wrestlemania, followed his demand of a title match, which was given to him, and he wins the title and walks out on WWE the same night, as his contract expired. Two weeks, a new huge contract and a few ice cream bars later, Punk re-emerges with new intro music (a mainstream song, by the way, something WWE never does). Then followed by his historic 432 day WWE Championship reign, ended by The Rock. Next came an amazing Wreslemania match against The Undertaker. This is the point where Punk became fed up with the WWE. In the next nine months, he had great PPV matches with Chris Jericho, Ryback and Brock Lesnar. None of this was good enough for him - it wasnt enough to be one of the top guys in WWE - he wanted to be THE man and nothing short of that could make him happy. (Sounds eerily reminiscent of when Bret Hart left to go to WCW in 1998). WWE creative was slowly building an angle where he would face Triple H at Wreslemania XXX - still not good enough for him, since the WWE Championship wasnt involved. So, like a spoiled child, he took his ball and went home. I was a fan of Punk throughout his career, so this is not a rant based on hating, but rather disappointment. He was given more accolades and concessions than 95% of his peers, and none of it was good enough for him. He left, thinking he hurt the WWE. The only ones he hurt were the fans who enjoyed his talent. WWE continued on like the well-oiled machine that it is. Good riddance. #SCBigDaddyG
