I need to be CRYSTAL CLEAR on something. In the world of BUSINESS, when YOU engage another entity for something that for whatever reason YOU cannot make happen yourself, thats a VALUED SKILL that MUST be RESPECTED and APPRECIATED on all levels. If you engage a law firm for example, they may, should they choose to give you ONE FREE CONSULTATION. Then its BUSINESS after that. Most doctors wont even give you that freebie. When your toilet backs up, Roto Rooter may come by and take a look for free, but theyre NOT gonna clean your shitty mess without payment. The unsigned indie talent world is laced and layered with people who will DEVALUE you based on their perception of what YOUR success level may be. In other words, they give YOU the treatment that they would NEVER give L.A. Reid or Clive Davis or Jay Z....because that shit simply wouldnt fly with their camp and YOU would already know that and KNOW THYSELF going in. The unfortunate problem that is the MAIN reason that indie artist struggle is because MOST indie artist think YOU should help them for FREE. If not the artist then it will be their management or reps who will bullshit you into oblivion but the minute they have to step up to the plate and actually play ball with you they wanna size YOU up and try to convince you that THEY did not waste your time. In fact, many will have the nerve to act as though YOU had somehow infringed upon them??? I KNOW, RIGHT?!?!? Well its like THIS. IF YOU wanna shop around for the best option for youself or your client, that may take some time and thats perfectly understood. But you dont get to go to Golden Corral and sample all the food and then walk out without paying. What I can do for an artist, a model, a DJ, a clown, a magician or a unicorn with a rainbow colored tail is based on 25-plus years of putting in hard work to now be called WERK. You see, work is what you do to get to the next level, but when your name alone means that when you walk in the business room you serve them WERK, then YOU who would engage someone like ME for whatever YOU could not make happen for yourself simply MUST respect that. Im no different than Clive Davis, Jimmy Iovine, Ileane Ford, Ryan Seacrest or anyone else... But until YOU the artist/manager/model,etc. reaches that level, YOU the one in NEED of MY or someone like myselfs help MUST respect MY hustle or anyone like myself.
