I need to buy a new laptop. I need something with a TON of memory (min 8GB but MUCH prefer 16), a smokin fast processor (min i5 but prefer i7 quad core), min 500GB hard drive and 15 screen. It should be reasonably lightweight / portable, DVD drive is a must so no ultrabooks or Air), PC is definitely preferred (sorry, not drinking the Apple Juice yet) with a long cord and a generous battery life. And a good life expectancy....something that can take heavy use and lots of travel. But not a gaming laptop. Other than that, Im not too picky. :)
