I need to rant... The young boys in our neighborhood, that Patrick plays with, are the most unmannered, aggressive and ill-behaved children I have seen in a long time! They will call, text and come to the house repeatedly, even if Patrick tells him he cannot come out. They never take no for an answer and berate him with questions as to why he cant do something. We dont allow Patrick to play any sports with them because our yards arent conducive to tossing or kicking balls around AND the one hyper competitive, overly aggressive kid has broken Patricks arm, the other kids window and possible his dogs leg (we are just speculating on that one, but its totally plausible) while playing non competitive sports. Patrick, knowing he cannot play sports with them, will still come and ask. This always leads to a discussion of our reasons and about respect...something these kids lack! Today we went through this again and Patrick smarted off to me, so I told him he was not allowed to play with them for the rest of the day and I would be happy to set those kids straight if needed. Of course, Patrick tells them he is grounded for asking to play sports...total lie, and those boys say they want to talk to me. I open the front door, happy to give them my thoughts on their rudeness and lack of respect but they are nowhere around. A few minutes later I hear a knock at the door, I open it to find the youngest boy standing there asking why Patrick cant play with them and I give him my speech about manners and respect and why he will never be allowed to play sports with them. THAT LITTLE SH!T WAS SMIRKING & LAUGHING the whole time! I didnt much care for that kid before, now hes on my list! Apparently, all 3 boys came to the door but when they saw Kevin coming out of the yard the 2 older cowards took off. I just dont understand the lack of parenting and guidance that is so prevalent with this group of kids! Pics fear for these kids future and I REFUSE to have them drag my son down with them. Needless to say, its going to be a long summer for Pat if these kids keep up their crap! Lucky for him he has enrichment activities and band camp.
