I need to rant about David Gregory. He is an NBC empty suit and big head of hair. Ever since he replaced Tim Russert, after his sudden death a few years ago, Gregory has been the worst host, and has driven the Sunday morning crown jewel of talk shows right into the ground. Russert, the consummate professional, was revered and feared in D.C. because he was well researched, tied into the D.C. scuttlebutt, without being corrupted, and he went after anyone who lied, spun or otherwise tried to sully the Meet the Press studio with bullshit. Gregory regularly does Hollywood celebrity interviews, runs pieces about himself, allows politicians and policy people to just spin with no context. Today he is doing a Boston Marathon show. He asks stupid questions to elicit emotion, and even got a woman to run off the set crying during taping of the segment because she begged not to have the terrorists names mentioned and they were anyway. Meet the Press was probably the only time you could find about 40 minutes of broadcast journalism rather than celebrity and vain news readers who have more time invested in their hair than they do in research. Russert never worried about the big get. The most important people wanted to be interviewed by him, it was an honor. A badge of honor. Gregory is a disgrace as the host of the show, a perfect lightweight ass to pilot yet another infotainment show on network television. OK. Im done now. Wait. Gregory: f you! OK. Now Im done.
