I need to rant for a minute. I know it is Thanksgiving and I have been counting my blessings... BUT I just heard a loud gunshot from the woods behind my house and I just want to cry. :( The excuses hunters use are that they have to cull the deer so the population will stay healthy and that they eat the meat. We all know it costs a lot of money for a) to get the meat processed and b) all the paraphernalia that is bought and used for hunting. (guns, ammunition, special clothing, deer stands, corn/bait, doe urine/anti-scent soap, etc.) Also, with the reduction of land around here, there are not many deer left. A gunshot can also travel a mile and kill a person too. There is no where around here that you are more than a mile away from someones house. So that leaves what? That they just want to kill something to make them feel superior? Deer are such beautiful, elegant creatures. It wont be long until they have no where to go. They deserve to live too. Please stop! Just stop! :(
