I need your help!! As most of you know from my posts, I am active with animal rescue for our county. The rescue groups that I work with have a wonderful working relationship with the city animal controls in our area, and we have just recently begun to work with the City of Bonne Terre. I have some disturbing information for you. There is a temporary officer there that just last week killed more animals than had been euthanized in the prior 7 months at that pound!! I say killed because they were adoptable animals, and we were actively working on rescue for them. His explanation was that it costs taxpayers money to feed them...well it costs taxpayers more to have them put down! The rescues will help to provide food for them! There is no excuse for this and they are keeping these animals in deplorable conditions in comparison to the other pounds in our area.
