Thank you for your time to read below and help me raise awareness for the Ronald McDonald House!************************* Our customers are our community - Lets show them the Power OF THE Players and help raise donations for the Ronald McDonald Houses Walk For Kids in Long Beach, CA on Sunday, April 6, 2014.” At GameStop, we are committed to being a good neighbor and contributing to nonprofit programs that focus on youth well-being in the communities where we operate. GameStop’s Giving Power volunteer teams support these organizations across the country and allow GameStop to maximize its impact. GameStop has formed a strong partnership with Ronald McDonald House Charities and has recently been given the opportunity to go above and beyond in support of the Long Beach Ronald McDonald House. The mission of Ronald McDonald House Charities of Southern California is to provide comfort, care and support to children and families. Their vision is a community where children and their families embrace life and healing with a sense of hope, enthusiasm, courage and joy. I wanted to let you know about two very courageous boys that I have come to know. Mitchell (17) and Spencer (16) Russo both have Cystic Fibrosis and an immune deficiency disorder. Neither of which have a cure. The boys are often times hospitalized without warning depending on their medical condition. Since both are avid gamers they each make sure to always bring their game consoles to the hospital and play Xbox Live with their friends from their hospital rooms – it makes their stays more bearable. I was introduced to their mother, Nicole whom I’ve become friends with over the last year. We devised a plan to surprise her boys with Xbox Ones, games and Gold memberships during the midnight launch at ST4888 in La Habra, California. Through this entire process, I discovered that the Long Beach Ronald McDonald house is her home-away-from-home when her boys are in need of medical care and treatment. The Russo Family has been comforted by their local Ronald McDonald House. However when the boys are well enough, they dedicate much of their time and energy to serving meals and giving back to the house that has provided so much for their family. They Russo family has recently been chosen as the feature family of this years Walk for Kids event.
