I never grew up in a mixed family. My parents have been married for over 35 years, along with both sets of my grandparents and my sisters and most of my family. They are the ones that I look up to when it comes to love, family, and raising my own children. These days it is normal to have more than one mom, more than one dad, sometimes 2 moms or even 2 dads if you really want to dig into the different situations kids these days face. It is a very confusing time to any kid at any age on top of all the other childhood worries and weird teenage years they will go through. All I can assure is that those children are loved twice as much by two families and they will find love, friendship, brothers and sisters they will spend a lifetime knowing and extended families that will treat them as blood. That is a LOT of love if you ask me. I know this because i found so much love just in my one family growing up...a step mother, step father, step brother or step sister is not a replacement for what you had. It is just an extention to your hearts family tree :)
