I never have made a posts like this here. Been thinking about this for some time. Forgive me if I ramble. I have a soft spot for those that have served. I pick up tabs for service members all the time. Even once pulled a homeless veteran out of a bar and got him housing at Northport V.A. That was a tough night but the staff jumped through many hoops for this man. After many hours a nurse approached me and said you must be hungry. I am but he is starving, motioning to the skin and bones veteran I coerced to the V.A. Ohh I cant give him anything but here is my lunch, with a wink. I took that brown paper bag and gathered up my Veteran. When we were in the clear I pulled out a cheese sandwich n handed it to him. Afterwards I learned in a round about way my new friend suffered from PTSD with violent tendencies cause of his service in the Korean war. As I was leaving a M.P. stopped me. Oh S**T. Ive been drinking and now Im going to get busted for driving, even though it has been hours since I drank. When I put my window down the M.P. said. I saw you bring that man in, you took care of one of ours. Let me escort you home. OMG! a M.P. escort!!!! Hell ya, Ill take that at 4:00 a.m. on a Saturday night! Now to get to the point of this post. and what does it have to do with LB/PD. Im a fan of the band Five Finger Death Punch. They have a song called Wrong Side Of Heaven. The accompanying video made me think of my veteran friend, but also the pit bull. Held on the highest pedestal but allowed to crash to the the ground. Both are heros to our country but failed by it. If you know a service member or want to help a service member, please take a moment to watch the video. Wait till the end you will find some great info as to how you can help our service members.
