I no longer view Americas version of intelligence squared debates to be worth a Goddamn compared to its international counterparts. What a joke. Only in the US could we turn such a previously amazing medium of intelligent discourse into glorified Fox News panels of Corporate tools and Activist hacks. The Pro-GMO side is Monsanto employees... and the Anti-GMO side is activists. Both sides IMMENSELY unqualified ot give you scientific, unbiased data of the issue at hand. -Not a single anthropologist concerning the impact on the third world farmers cultures due to indentured servitude due to predatory debt creation based on requirements to use pesticide based crops, -not a single biologist whos profession it is to see the impact on pesticide overusage and its effect on fauna and flora in the surrounding areas, -not a single botanist to talk about the biodiversity issue by patenting seeds and making it so that only corporate sponsored strains of food that -REQUIRE- pesticide to even -GROW-... -not a single litigation professional to analyze the harm of demanding that biodiversity on this and other continents be destroyed, and what unethical practices are being used to push fortht his belief that GMO foods are being magically, independently created for the good fo mankind when the companies creating them are *PESTICIDE* companies whos number one GMO foods sold are regular crops who *require pesticides to GROW as a result of their bastardized gene sequencing** -not a single legal and biological ethics professional on the issue of patenting seeds and forms of life that allow for laws which target hard working farmers and destroy generations of their own seed cultivation for corporate gain/control over the the dwindling biodiversity of the flora in North America. ...
