I normally am quiet and dont post much but I am sitting here just stewing about a transaction that was to happen via a Facebook selling site. I posted that we had some beef for sale. There were many questions asked and answered. Complete prices were given. I had a couple of people check with their hubbies, a no go for now. Fine no problem. I sold a quarter to my husbands cousin. Awesome. It worked out perfect. The other quarter was sold to someone in South Bend that I didnt know. I figured she had a decent job as it stated on her Facebook page so it would probably be fine. I gave her every detail, price, weight, explanation of process, etc. she committed to the sale. I emailed the butcher sheet to her and explained how it worked. She filled it out for her family and sent it back. We were nice and drove it over to the butcher. A few days later I messaged her and told her the beef was ready. I made arrangements for Shane to meet her so she could follow him to the butcher. An hour before they were to meet, she cancelled she said her husbands paycheck hadnt been deposited and my estimation of 10 days for the butcher ended up to be shorter. They wouldnt have the money until the 1st. Fine I guess. That was a couple of days before Thanksgiving. On Thanksgiving she messaged me and said they had the money. Great. I gave her my husbands cell number and said I was going to be out of town but he could meet them at he butcher to get the money and they would get the meat. They didnt want to pay us before they got the meat as they didnt know us. No problem. I get it. Well the weekend came and went... No phone call. Shane called and texted her husband today and I messaged her on facebook as the butcher wants the meat gone... Nothing again. Shane finally got a hold of her husband this afternoon and he stated we cant afford it this year.. WHAT! After the beef was already cut for YOUR family! Nice... And we dont have room to store this in our freezer until we find a buyer. I guess they figured we had money to throw away? This was a sale, a commitment by them. This wasnt a let me check with my husband. Why do people and I have had this a couple of times on facebook. Not This BAD but I have had people put sold on an item. I put sold behind them then they MSG me and say oh I dont get paid for 2weeks until the 1st. ADVICE People --- if you DO NOT have the money at the time you put SOLD on an item then DONT buy it. That Simple! This case was a little I mean ALOT extreme and Ridiculous. Ok, I am done ranting for now. Just totally Eerks me. We are honest people and expect others to be as well. This is what our small towns are known for. Being good honest people. Really p------ me off.
