I note the passing of an historical landmark. Folks my age and older would remember the CitiesService gas stations, now they are Citgo. They had the building with 3 green stripes around it. One that sat at the corner of North Holmes Street and West 10th Street, that had been a Mexican auto mechanics garage, was cleared out and 2 days ago demolished, now just a pile of rubble. CitiesService joined such stations back when like PURE OIL, GULF, SINCLAIR and many more. There was also a CitiesService station near where I grew up on the Southeastside, at Raymond Street and Arlington Avenue, the building is still there, just over the years has been changed inside and out for various businesses. Just a note.
