I notice something interesting in our Origin bill yesterday when doing some calculations to work out how many solar panels to install. The reading is split into pre-1Jul14 and post-1Jul14 usage. Obviously because the carbon tax was removed WEF 1 July, so yes it makes sense to split it, although they have clearly pro-ratad it since they only did one reading. Anyhow - looking at the rate c/kWh: - Pre-1Jul14, peak usage was 26.73 c/kWh and T33 was 18.052 c/kWh - Post-1Jul14 (i.e. post removal of carbon tax) the peak usage rate is 28.015, and the T33 rate is 20.997 ... so they have actually INCREASED the rate /kWh AFTER the carbon tax was removed ... If youre in QLD, go have a look at your bill, and see how it looks. Im dying to see how this is explained away by the LNP spin doctors.
