I noticed Saturday morning that there was a DJ I hadnt heard before whos voice bore a striking resemblance to that of Blossom Dearie. I think this is next level game theory by KMHD, to get DJs who sound like the artists people like. That way, the people who know very little about jazz can be attracted just based on the tonal quality of the DJs voice. This correlates well to why people listen to car talk or Prairie Home companion. Most people I know who listen to CarTalk will never work on their car, when something goes wrong with their car, they will still be dependent on a mechanic to fix it, and will still default to their diagnosis. Why the hell do they spend hours listening to a show about car repair? I think its just because its gibberish interspersed with laughing. As for Prairie Home Companion, I think thats just for people who lack any personality and have an anxiety disorder that makes them afraid of confronting 1. good authentic music or 2. anything actually funny.
