I occasionally get questions from readers. I promise to get back to history later tonight, but for your enjoyment right now, here are the answers to some of the most frequently asked questions about Lawrence County History Trivia. Q: Who are you and how many of you are there? A: I am Clint Alley, and I am the sole writer and researcher for Lawrence County History Trivia. I was born and raised in Lawrence County, and I graduated from LCHS in 2002. I hold a bachelors degree in history, a minor in journalism, a masters degree in secondary education and history, and am nearing completion of a masters degree in public history, all from the University of North Alabama. Q: Do you get paid to do these history posts? A: No, Lawrence County History Trivia is a hobby I have been doing in my spare time since October. I also have three jobs and go to school, and I am excited to announce that my wife and I are expecting our first child this year. Q: If you dont get paid for it, why do you do this? A: I do Lawrence County History Trivia because, in addition to loving historical research, I love my hometown. I think its a pretty special place with a pretty exciting history, and I want everyone else to know and appreciate that rich and exciting history! Q: Is there a book of these facts that I can buy? A: Not yet, but I am working on one! Right now, I am nearing completion of the rough draft of Lawrence County History Trivia the book. It should be finished and available for purchase by this fall! Q: Will you do my genealogy? A: Yes, I would love to! I work part-time for the genealogical research firm of Kentucky-Tennessee Research Associates. To find out prices and further details, e-mail my supervisor Mark Lowe at marklowe@kytnresearch. Be sure to tell him that you want Clint! Q: Where do you find all of your information? A: A variety of sources! For each post, I try to obtain and review as many resources pertaining to the event as possible, and then coalesce that information into a quality, well-researched narrative. In addition to using multiple online databases of historical documents, I also consult the work of local historians who have gone before me. When I consult books and articles written by other historians, I always give them credit for their research in the post. Kathy, the county archivist, has also been extremely helpful for guidance and for helping me obtain occasional local records that arent yet available online. If you have any other questions for me, write them in a comment or send me a message!
