I often vent about Eriks school and the appropriateness of his placement, but today I am grateful for teachers who see his potential. There is a science teacher at his school who teaches in the upper grades but has always loved chatting with Erik (he often invites Erik to visit his class). They are always talking about science stuff. Today he met Erik at the gate with this giant cow bone, snake skin and a couple books for him to borrow. Thank you Mr. Dawson for being a teacher who understands Eriks interests and extending his learning. To do this for a child not even in your grade or class is the true testament of a teacher. I am so grateful for teachers like this.
