I once heard Hillary Rodham Clinton say something that’s stuck with me: “Decisions are being made every day in Washington, and if you are not part of those decisions, you might not like what they decide, and you’ll have no one to blame but yourself.” That opened my eyes to a simple but critical reality: Until women have a more active – and equal – voice in government, we will never effect meaningful change.
