I once ministered a three-day revival in a church in the Philippines. It wasn’t the biggest church in the city, but on the first night, I told the congregation that after the meetings were over they would have enough money to buy the church an overhead projector. Everyone looked blank because we didn’t have enough money – I spoke it by faith. So they took up an offering on the first night. It was smaller than a measly amount. But I stuck to my confession. On the second night the offering still was no indication that we were going to get enough money. But I kept saying it: “After these meetings are over, there’s going to be enough money for an overhead projector”. We took up the third and final offering on the last night – and still it was a mere pittance of what would be needed to purchase a projector. But I still believed what I’d said. The following week I was invited to preach in another larger church in the city. The meetings went for eleven nights. They took up an offering for me every night. One day I took the bag of cash I’d received in the offering the night before, and went and visited the pastor of the church where I’d been the previous week – and gave him the whole offering. It wasn’t enough to buy a projector – but it was a significant amount. When the congregation heard about it, they all started giving. Almost immediately they had enough to buy the projector. Then some men in the church felt, seeing they now had a projector, that the church should also be freshly painted to match the new projector. So the men immediately started contributing – and soon the church was being painted too. Everyone was glad and surprised it all happened so quickly. You can have what you say! “And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall SAY unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he SAITH shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he SAITH. Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them” (Mark 11:23,24).
