I once told a federal judge that she was confused after she misinterpreted a section of the United States Sentencing Guidelines when sentencing me to prison for 37.5 years! I went to that extent because I knew I was 100 percent correct in my interpretation of the guidelines, but the judge didn’t want to hear it! Eventually, another federal judge was assigned to my case. And this judge appointed an attorney to review my argument. After a review of my case, the attorney’s observations coincided with the original judge’s erroneous determination. So I asked the court to terminate the attorney’s obligation to the court in representing me, and I stated the reasons why. The court granted my motion! The new judge then considered my argument, and I proved that every legal professional that was involved with my case had misinterpreted Chapter Three of the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines. As a result and on three separate occasions, the new judge granted my requests to reduce my sentence by 10 years, to release me immediately from prison, and to terminate my supervised release period early! Importantly, especially to the youth, I obtained this knowledge by simply reading books and taking the time to understand what I was reading!
