I only get to watch Indonesian movie Minggu Pagi di Victoria Park (Sunday Morning in Victoria Park) while I was in Singapore, and later found the DVD of Opera Jawa (Requiem From Java) in a shelf in library@esplanade. I really enjoyed the experience and found a new appreciation of festival movies, especially those that are produced by Indonesian filmmakers. Amidst the hype of catching the latest Hollywood productions, I still feel a sense of irreplaceable joy in finding a rare gem such as heartfelt festival movies :)
