I only post biannually and I think I am now due. So... As Im finally settling in from my recent transition to Notre Dame, it has dawned on me that life is full of transitions. I used to be opposed to transitions. Like many, I thought transitions in life were particularly strenuous and resisted change devotedly. Perhaps it was mere youth that grounded such a somber perspective of the inevitable changes that were to occur. My recent transition to grad school has made my opinions on transitions in life malleable. I expected the transition to be laborious and daunting to be honest, but instead, I was overwhelmed with equanimity and elation. This led me to a realization. Transitions allow us all to discover something novel about ourselves. So what did I learn on this endeavor into graduate school? Embrace the change. Ignore the stigmas about change. Learn something new and allow that to mold you into the person you aspire to become. Oh, I also learned that ND is great. Just fantastic. The people, the academics, the football. Impeccable really. Go Irish! See you all in March.
