I open the door, turn on lights, and Get the grill going; start preparing the walk-in for the truck. I check the temperatures and begin the prep lists and menus just like any other day. BUT this is not just any other day. This is MEMORIAL DAY. This is that day that has been set aside to remember those AMERICANS that paid the ultimate price so that I can have this day. My heart swells with pride as I take a moment and think about those men and women who paid that ultimate sacrifice for My Life, My Liberty and My pursuit of Happiness. Those brave men and women throughout our nation’s history that make up our military, THANK YOU. This lowly cook getting his restaurant ready for the day REMEMBERS YOU…he is PROUD of you…he is INDEBTED to you…he is INSPIRED by you and would not have this day if it wasn’t for you. - Alex Richardson Chef/Owner
