I ordered a new phone from Vodafone. They sent it by - TopicsExpress

I ordered a new phone from Vodafone. They sent it by courier. Courier tries to deliver (though not very hard - Im home but they leave a not on the door inviting me to collect from Albany - which might as well be albania). I go online and request a redelivery today. I have to go to a meeting so I leave a note saying leave it at the back door - I take responsibility. I live on Stanley Point in a small apartment building - weve never had any issues with anything - I left my car parked on the street outside for six months. Nothing (though I had a note from a neighbour saying that I seem to have left my car unlocked). So, I get a call five minutes after leaving the house - its the courier. Just leave it says me. You have to sign says he. what now? I take it away. Where? Albany. But you can collect it from the Devonport Post shop. What, this afternoon? No it will be in Albany. This afternoon? No. Probably tomorrow. So, how will I get it from Devonport if it is in Albany? Call our 0800 number. … This triangular love affair doesnt work for anyone. 1. Vodafone - they are so excited to have made a sale. Ive had three emails from them deliriously advising me of what is happening (if only they knew). 2. Me. I dont got no phone. I dont like wasting my time leaving notes for couriers and talking to them on the phone. Did I mention - no phone? 3. Courier Post Two wasted journeys. No resolution to the task. More handling at Albany Me on the internet dissing their ability More transport to Devonport because I aint going to Albany without a summons. There are no winners in this sorry tale. Vodafone has vaguely disgruntled customer. Courier Post are going round in circles. And aint got no phone. Possible scenarios a) dont order a phone online - go to a shop - they are everywhere. b) order online - pick up from pre-ordained shop - ready, waiting c) Courier Post organise a network of safe, accredited pick up points in streets an neighbourhoods. Mrs Houndslow at number 43 is disabled and at home all day - put her through a scrutiny process and engage her as an accredited agent for neighbours to collect deliveries. Courier could have secure lockbox so she doesnt have to handle. A passive bar-code or RFID thingy on the pack could register its location/receipt, collection…or some easy tech. The worst of it is that I was going to Instagram my porridge for you this morning. Well both have to wait.
