I own both a P220 & p227 both 45ACP. What I have found by shooting - TopicsExpress

I own both a P220 & p227 both 45ACP. What I have found by shooting 30 rds a piece is that their grips are crap. Just the power from the 45 rd loosens the grips because they are not held on by screws but is one piece & are held on by tits that pop in a little hole down inside the grip. Have you wondered why that special tool for grip removal is supplied. Not only that but the frames of both are polymer & will not handle a lot of extreme heat from firing. I carried my P220 as a CCW & today I took some time to test both & now Sig has lost me as a fan because they have cheapened their pistols to cut cost but havent cut the price. I also own both a P226 elite & P226 dark elite & a P229. All in 9mm. They are all metal & shoot great. Its just that the 9mm doesnt have enough stopping power. My P227 is an Equinox. I have a friend that is a big Kimber fan & he told me that the CEO of Kimber was let go for creating cost cut measures that cost the company in quality of their products & now he is at Sig doing the same thing. Does anyone know anything about this. I will not buy another Sig unless it is all metal.
