I, personally, am offended by the actions of the Supreme Court. Yesterday, they made it clear that money wins. They have supported the development of a plutocracy. This goes back to corporations being people. The lost boys, the five men that usually vote as a block on these issues (though CT usually would like it sliced even more to the green on the right) seem to think that the rich and the mega-corporations have a MORE EQUAL chance at life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. We have had the capability to care for everyone on earth for forty years. We could wipe out disease and poverty and care for those we seem to think are a statistical blip at the end of a spread sheet and are simply collateral damage. You know that I am a Christian. That I am very devout. This is not the call to action that our Lord speaks to us in the Bible. This is not the work of the Church spoken to us through tradition. This is not the reason shared with us by the wise. This is the selfishness that will lead to revolution or collapse. Which will it be? I will work contrary to the rulings of this court for as long as I can. (Please pray for those at Ft. Hood, who once again must endure tragedy at home.)
