I personally feel like East Feliciana Parish is in need of something like this to bring our businesses, schools, families and community closer together. And our surrounding areas. This would be a great way to help our businesses pick up and get some exposure and for people to start noticing our community in a positive way, rather than people knowing us for the new curfew we have set because of crime! I hope everyone takes advantage of this event to help their businesses grow and for our community to get better! I ask for anybody and everybody to spread the word and share this status! Barn Hill Preserve is also going to give the opportunity and challenge some of our local schools to sell raffle tickets for this event. And every single ticket they sell, Barn Hill Preserve will donate a $1.00 back into their school. Barn Hill Preserve is hosting their first Annual "Gumbo cook off and Festival" on December 7, 2013. There will only be openings for 1,000 companies/Individuals for the contest. If you know of any individuals, businesses or groups, Contact Hope Walker asap at 225-910-2652. The registration deadline will be in October. Also we will have a designated area for people to set up their booths in the market area. There is only 500 spots available for that area. You should come set up and advertise! Things to do at Barn Hill Preserve that weekend: All of our animal ambassadors on site Mini Farm Gumbo cook off Public tasting Raffles all day Santa Claus Photo booth Inflatables Live music all day Market booths Toys for Tots And plenty more. Tickets will be limited!!
