I play in a garden full of blooms The colors catch my eye Smelling the air fresh and crisp Looking to my right staring back at me Is the past a shadow that never leaves my side Moving forward threw the tall spindle grass Looking to the well lit path ..... let the anger pass Owl hovers over...... lands on a spindled branch Tightly twisted with past sorrows.... not to break or to give reprieve Monsters linger in my garden Busy planting seeds to grow beauty... love ...... Digging out the judgmental weeding out the critical The gardener tired and weaken by the strife Keeps removing the stones to uncover new ground Looked at by many who are strangers.... but found The colors catch there eyes Love and kindness is what they see not to pass them by A few float in a boat not to see......with anchor to hold in place Waters rise racing in circles not leaving love a trace Skies open a hand reaches to face To give a heart held strong base of strength See the sea of thunder rage ....you still sit in the cage A bound package of blame and hate...cocoon inside Calling unto the eagle to lunge forward to untie Let the seeds of the gardener plant the seed to retrieve the love Heal the wounds of the heart Fill with the red roses and a meadow of peace Linger in the garden...to be free Let go of the thorns..... past is the past Let the anger pass Written By Donna L Hughes
