I played Rome: Total War Barbarian Invasions expansion game today. This video game is the sequel to Rome: Total War. I started with just one Franks tribe city. The Franks I think from history were a germanic tribe that invaded France and for which France is named after. I am playing that tribe. I instead invaded to the east and took several cities. Later I allied with Saxons and Burgundy. I gained a new appreciation for this game expansion as my Saxons allies declared war on Burgundy and I decided to support them. I conquered the Burgundy city and the Burgundy armies appeared as wandering hordes looking for a homeland. I sent armies to reinforce my city and they left and invaded West Roman Empire and are besieging one of their important cities now. The game mechanics in this are different where if you vanquish a faction they reappear as wandering people and armies looking for a homeland and will attack rival cities. Roman West Empire is my allies so I hope they win the was versus the Burgundy armies I created. o.O
