I pose a thought for my friends, please read. (A Brief Synopsis of Plunge, Written & Directed by Your Truly) Close your eyes and imagine: What is hope? To most maybe a raise at a mediocre job. The hope to begin moving up the corporate ladder, securing a 9 to 5, maybe get benefits, a paid week off once a year so that you can take your 2.5 children to Disney. Maybe hope to a creative, is being found, discovered amongst a sea of talent in hopes that they stand out. That their work might be note-worthy, memorable... What is hope to the hopeless? What is a dream to those who never sleep? What is romance to a lover, whos soul mate lives in the underbelly of a disease. Favorite moments riddled with with scars, needles ripping at the skin, pressure so tight bound by this tourniquet of life. What is hope? For one girl bound by the savagery of addiction hope lie only in the thought of death. Romantic notions of overdosing in a gas station bathroom only to be found by a stranger. No identification. No past and certainly no future. Lost among a sea of worthless, lost amidst the uncontrollable tides of life... Ebbing and flowing with dissolution and disappointment, eventually being swept up by the undertow. This is hope. This is death. But worst of all this is life.
