I positively reflect on d argument ensued wen a columnist, Mr. Jiti Ogunye od Premium Times, challenged d "inappropriateness" of d word DEPORTATION regarding a forceful expulsion of some pauperised persons from one state to another. Let me begin by commending d defense put forward by opponents of his postulation, dos dat see "Deportation" as an appropriate term. However, I wish to humbly express my agreement with d notion dat deportation can only be used for movements of persons between two sovereign countries through their PORTS of entries, hence the term "DE-PORT". By implication, deportation is part of a larger term and more complex, as against words like "Expulsion" "Evacuation" and several other alternatives. DEPORTATION starts with two different exercises (DEPARTURE, EXCLUSION). While both departure and exclusion are voluntary exercises by d affected persons, deportation on d other hand, involves use of some of physical assistance to relocate. Such technical misuse is sometimes apply in differentiating between. "REFUGEES" and Internally Displaced Persons (IDP), thereby mistaking former for latter
