I post this with heavy heart and sadness when I first started on the Mexican/American War project I was full of enthusiasm and great anticipation of telling the story of my beloved Old Guard but since then I too have become another casualty of sequestration. I have been giving my all to the mission for the last 33 years. At times of good the outside scorned and laughed at me because I was making far less then my counter parts and in times of bad I have been scorned and ridiculed for ripping off the tax payers because I was making more than the unemployed. This is not about me alone but rather the 800,000 dedicated Department of Defiance work force. We have given our best but yet because of a group of people elected officials that have not been able to perform the most basic of their job and that is to pass a budget in the last 5 years. I for one am inspired by the newly elected congress men and women but unfortunately they too fall victim of the good old boy system. Why is this you may ask, because even though they are fresh and new and have great new idea’s to help my country but yet they are beaten and coerced into going along. We your D.o.D work force are very dedicated to serving our men and women in uniform to help them to perform their duties in protecting this nation but we need your help the only way that we the American public can ever regain WE The People is to force “Term Limit” Because these people stay so entrenched as career politicians things will never change it is now time to demand term limits it’s not a new idea but it is a good idea and it is time for it now!
