I post this with the greatest cautions. Divisions of the people work well for the game Politic,, ratings and advertisers, newspapers sold and books to be written. The “Energized Base” an objective, as if some numbers are assured by this fostering of rage and discontent will secure elections. But today, I ask for a prayer, for those harmed in yet another act of horror and frustration of an angry young man, driven to extremes. I ask for prayers,, unashamedly. For those lost in injured at the Naval Yard shooting. AND for that young man. < --- (This is my way too) Then,,,,,,,,, I found this WE THE PEOPLE,,, of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America. *************************************** Now I pulled out these words to think about today. Here are some of my Views. ”To form a more perfect union”. To me, this statement speaks in recognition that NO Union or group or gathering as a nation are ever perfect,, BUT we can try. and try and TRY some more. ********************** ”Establish Justice” In a democracy,,, call me crazy,, but this should mean for ALL the people,, not just the few. No??? Yes?? ****************** ”To insure domestic Tranquility” Now there is the biggie,, not just a a phrase to be uttered,, but a mandate upon ourselves and our officials. How this is achieved,,, I have no real answer,,, but I do know the steps. Self-examination. Willingness to listen. To know compromise as a goal and a necessity. Respect for the position of others. Willingness to seek workable solutions. To value the resolution of conflicts as an achievement in itself. To actively seek common ground and mutual benefit. To see goodness in the health and the prosperity of ALL, that only strengthens the many as well as the lifting up of the individual. ******************************* NEXT: To promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity.
