I posted a semi-rant the other day about Concussions and the approach of tacklers to ball carries. Look at the body position of the tackler in this image of Sammy Watkins re-injuring his ribs. This isnt an attempt to tackle but an intent to separate the receiver from the ball. If the Detroit player is attempting to make a tackle with his arms in a position to elicit control of the runner then Im pretty sure no injury happens. Look at the moment of impact on Wes Welker in the second image. Same approach leads to a concussion. Have some respect for each others careers and families.
