I posted a vid about my HP laptop I picked up from eBay... No, its not related to records but the audio on this machine is impressive. First off, it has built in stereo microphones and the quality is surprisingly good. Listening to a recording made with it on a big system reveals a round tone and great stereo imaging. The mics dont pick up too much fan noise from the case and you can hear the room effect around your voice. Its neat when youre watching a video with headphones and the voice follows the position of the head on the screen. The computer has stereo speakers built in too. Play music or watch a video and you get a very nice stereo effect. Now, they are tiny laptop speaker with no bass but very clean and way more listenable than most of the smartphone or tablet speakers Ive heard. Plug in some good headphones and it sounds very nice, indeed. Low noise and low distortion and plenty of volume. I suspect that there must be a frustrated audiophile on the HP design team because this sort of attention to detail is a bit of a surprise.
