I posted the following this morning only to realize it never posted. So, here goes: I returned to the doctor this morning for a followup after x rays. When I had been called with the results I was somewhat misinformed. I do NOT have anything rheumatoid, I DO have severe arthritis of the spine and disc degeneration near the bottom of my spine. This is the cause of my pain. I now have an appointment next week with a pain management doctor who will probably choose injections in my spine to alleviate the pain. I am to drop weight and begin some for of strengthening activities (doctor will discuss this with me next week), It is not reversible, but can be slowed and made manageable. Best case scenario is this works, worst case is surgery and would be a last resort. For now, I am on the meds I have had and deal with it. I will keep you posted.
