I posted this a few minutes ago as a response to Arts post on the current situation in Gaza and Muslim/Jewish relations. Will someone please tell me I am wrong. Tell me there is an answer. I havent spent my life contemplating this but short of something causing massive intermarriage, I see no hope for reconciliation. I would love to feel some hope for them. Please Art Nesmith #1 It is impossible to have meaningful dialogue when the vocabulary is so severely limited by the PC police. #2 Killing people by the thousands is how this has been handled for 1000s of years and is linked to your glorification and salvation. #3 Jews and Muslims (Christians also) are leery of contradicting anything backed by their own scriptures, even though they might disagree with the interpretation (and usually do). #4 we treat this as if it was politics. It aint. Its a religious war. You can change peoples political opinions under the perfect conditions, at exactly the right time. Not true of of your core religious beliefs. #5 Anything accomplishing a ceasefire will be temporary and short-lived.#6 The only long term answer to this issue is to somehow meld the two religions by finding some common link that would make attacking the other an attack upon themselves. If you find it, please let someone know This shit has got to stop.
