I posted this on Twitter, but I think it fits here as well: Here is my question for every person who says to me, Hey, just let it go. OK, what does that look like? As I speak to Muslims, do I say that there is a statute of limitations on lying about them in the Christian faith? Do I say, Well, you see, if you can get away with it for five years, after that, it is forgiven? How do I explain the promotion of falsehood and the allowance of non-repentance? Or do I just say, Sorry, I did what I could. Christians just dont have a lot of concern about folks who promote themselves by lying about you, your religion, and pretending to be experts about you? And when I teach men about the sanctity of the Christian ministry, the high calling of standing behind the pulpit and speaking Gods truth, what then? Do I say, Now, this is only for some folks. Others can profane this pulpit, use it for personal advancement, stand behind it and lie through their teeth, and they will be rewarded for that, and thats just all there is to it? I have often asked for where the Scriptures give us the freedom that so many seem to have to say, OK, the facts are irrelevant---nothing has been resolved---but, its too late. Falsehood wins, time to move on. I would really love to move on. But Im wondering how I can pay the price of compromise?
