I posted this on a local news FB page re: the election results for Georgia. Figured I would share it a little more widely here. Real talk. ------- Not surprised, but disappointed. My family falls into the small gap of families that would have been eligible for Medicaid if Deal had accepted the expansion - but since he didnt, we make too much (ahh ha ha) to qualify for any subsidies to help with healthcare costs, and my husbands employer (a church, believe it or not!) doesnt offer coverage options. So thanks very much Georgia and Gov Deal for making our lives, filled with struggle already, more difficult. I posted yesterday in the thread about the mother throwing her son over the bridge. I find what the mother did sickening and unforgivable. My daughter is on the severe end of the autism spectrum and Ive had to give up my career to be her caregiver. Life has proven to be a series of baffling challenges for the past few years and being able to have access to medical care for my chronic health issues and increasing anxiety/depression issues would mitigate the difficulties quite a bit. Its all connected, and its rarely as simple a story as youd like to think it is. In any case, everybody be nice to each other. We all we got, as they say.
