I posted this on my Cousin Kathies wall the other day to let her know I had been thinking of her father, my wonderful Uncle Palmer. Thought I would post it on my timeline and share it with the rest of the world. If you have fond memories of your Aunts and Uncles I would encourage you to share them with your cousins and keep the love of family alive :-) Post to Page By Robert Joel Saunders About a week or so ago I was in the Pharmacy line at Safeway which was moving at a snails pace. Found my self drifting through space and time staring at a shelf of cough drops. Suddenly I was 13 years old and had just finished my weekly mowing of your folks lawn. I had a bad cold and as I was putting Palmers mower back in the garage and he overheard me coughing. He went to that wonderful old truck and reached in through the passenger window and pulled out a box of Ludens cherry cough drops and handed it to me say here you go Bobby, this will help with that nasty hack. I thought they were the best damn hard candy I had ever tasted! Flash forward back to Safeway I grabbed bag of them off the shelf and been having three or so a day over the last week. With each one I have had a wonderful memory of your father. From fishing, sledding on the hill behind your house and many conversations with him. He was so special to me. He really was. Today I came in from working in my yard and grabbed a cough drop and back into the trance. Was the end of the summer of my 14th year and I had just finished mowing and sweeping your lawn. Palmer asked me if I had anything I needed to do and I replied no. We got in that truck and he took me for lunch at Seymours Café down town. .... I digress and I know I am rambling but wanted you to know I have been spending a lot of time with your dad this week and I loved him so very much.
