I posted this picture in the early fall of 2014 and shortly after, received a comment from Helen, who believed she knew the home. After I posted a second photo, I received the following note. This is why I do what I do. The biggest coincidence is that Helens mother moved to my hometown (population: 1,800), after her father passed. There are stories in all of these homes, wanting to come out. I buried my mom this year and my dad 19 years ago and we moved from that house. He died in the bathroom. I was the last one to paint the outside in 1990. The neighbors donated the paint to us. We had no money but they were sick of how bad it looked. I just really appreciate how you document what I personally feel is the loss of America. It fades away to nothingness. Weve forgotten our farms and our homesteads.
