I posted when Muschamp handled the Sharif Floyd situation a few years ago that I’d be very proud to have my son play for him. I was asked if my opinions changed when the football quality went down a little bit. Just 2 days after learning their coach was fired, over 60 Florida football players, on a game week, showed up to bag groceries at a food bank for families in need for the Holidays. That answer is a resounding yes. One of the schools in our state has paid the price of success as a girl who has left school and sought counseling due to the abuse she received from her fellow students simply for making an accusation, being forced to cheer for a QB who has no respect for women, is a liar and a thief, the pregnant mother of the starting RB’s child left with bruises on her arms, the 2 starting CB’s hitting and running at the scene of a crime, one of the starting WR’s stealing a scooter, and all of these players have had massive mishandling and coverups by the city and Univ’s police departments. The answer is still yes. I am proud of what Coach Muschamp has accomplished at Florida and intensely jealous of the fortunate team whose defense he will coordinate next year. Being a head coach comes down to wins and losses, and he didn’t win enough so he needed to go, but I’m glad I’m not blindly cheering for a team full of players that I can’t be proud of. Best of luck, Coach ‘Champ.
