I previously mentioned the GPS system, but here is another useful tool that in many ways is more beneficial than that. In this scenario, the device requires no batteries to replace, and there is no need to be outdoors under an unobstructed sky. I am not trying to get anyone to buy this specific brand of product, but simply use it as an example. If you have ever been in a location where you needed to know which direction you are facing, this will work fairly accurately regardless of your location. Additionally, it provides a barometer, to alert you to any drastic weather changes – and one of the features that I like is the altimeter reading to tell me my elevation and rate of accent or descent (if necessary). If you are an outdoors person who is also interested in sunrise/sunset data – that is available too. Of course, there is an accurate watch function, with timers, stopwatches, etc. It doesn’t have all of the GPS functions, but it does provide the wearer with things that the GPS doesn’t have.
