I probably would have posted something this weekend but I had - TopicsExpress

I probably would have posted something this weekend but I had agreed to babysit a Great Dane and a chihuahua for an old neighbor if mine from my old house of 3 years ago. And since this woman doesnt seem to have any HDMI or DVI monitors and my computer doesnt seem to want to work with VGA, I was left with my iPhone and a lot of TV. But once I get home in a few hours, I might be able to do something for once Anyway, most of what Ive been watching was a couple of old shows on Nickelodeon like Drake and Josh (just about the only show Dan Schneider has ever produced beyond Amanda Show and All That that I dont despise) and a lot of Boomerang, the Cartoon Network nostalgia channel, if you didnt already know. Also watched some of the midnight Toonami stuff Back to my point, I watched a few episodes of Powerpuff Girls since I hadnt seen it in probably 8 to 10 years. I watch this and compared it to the MLP episode I watched with Jeff, remembering Lauren Faust had a huge hand in making it and Fosters, which I also watched this weekend. While all shows carry their childish humor and satirize a few modern things, PPG and Fosters certainly dont seem to pander to the lowest common denominator. They can actually carry a challenging question to the viewers in at least SOME degree of actual intelligence where as MLP, from what Ive seen and what the others have reviewed, only seem to lazily make some humor around what the running joke is around each character or the particular setting (I really wish I could burn the pink chicken Alice from that damned Halloween episode...) The point is, you cant say that MLP is a good show for ANYONE to watch, wether theyre little 4 to 7 year old girls or late college-aged neckbeards who seem to blow what money they can scrounge from their parents on MLP body pillows and toys (that they may never glance at more than the one or two times they come into their bedroom during the day since they rarely ever leave their bedrooms). Its especially disappointing since we know Faust can make some good shows like Fosters and the art Ive seen her make really isnt bad. But to see she started a show around a toy line she probably played with in early elementary school and decide that this kind of humor was in it and probably wasnt changed when she no longer worked on it, I wonder if she would even have any credibility left ~HK-47
