I promise I will try my level best to stay in the middle on this - TopicsExpress

I promise I will try my level best to stay in the middle on this very long read, but please read the whole thing, there are some valid points here. Ok, here goes. First off let me say I hold no malice towards the jury in the recent trial of George Zimmerman. They reached pretty much the only verdict they could have in accordance with the parameters they were given. Which leads me to the million dollar question….. Why was a ‘not guilty’ verdict even an option? George Zimmerman admitted to and never denied having shot and killed Trayvon Martin. No disputing facts. The only question was and still is, was he justified in doing so. So, maybe there should have been two cases tried here. The first, to establish guilt and the second to decide what appropriate punishment if any should have been dealt GZ. The last time I checked murdering someone was illegal. According to man’s laws AND God’s. And before I go any further let me express my extreme disgust with the media for distorting facts and holding sway over something so important to our society and indeed our entire justice system. This was not a racial issue until they made it so. And also for the judge for giving the jury such a limited list of options, and for not instructing them as to what each possible verdict meant. They actually had to ask the judge to clarify the manslaughter verdict. And HUGE thumbs down to both the prosecution and the defense for turning this whole thing into a circus from the very opening of the trial. Sorry, but their actions made this a mockery of justice itself. The prosecution simply did not do their job, and to be honest the defense did not either. The judge did it for them. So here is my list of troubling facts and unanswered questions.....
