I promised this receipe to Candace yesterday so here it is: Freezer Pickles (crunchy and delicious) 7 cups sliced cucumbers (or sliced green tomatoes, zucchini, any crunchy vegetable) 2 Tablespoons pickling salt Sprinkle salt over cukes and stir so that salt is evenly distributed. Let set for 2 hours, pour off accumulated liquid from cukes (do not rinse). Mix 2 cups sugar, l cup white vinegar, l teaspoon mustard seed, l teaspoon celery seed in a saucepan and bring to a boil, making sure sugar is dissolved. Let cool. Pour mixture over cukes, cover and place in refrig at least 12 hours. Pack in jars, plastic containers, or Ziploc freezer bags, covering slices with the mixture they have been soaking in (freezer bags worked fine for me). You can eat right away or they will keep in the refrig for weeks (actually a couple of months). Or just put them in the freezer where they will keep for a year. Thaw and enjoy.
